VIENNA/DUBAI – flugwerkzeuge aviation software (f:wz) a subsidiary of DAE Services, the aviation technology division of Dubai Aerospace Enterprise (DAE), it is well known for its market-leading position for cost-optimizing flight planning solutions for airline customers around the globe.
What do United Airlines, Virgin, Air-India and Malaysian Airlines have in common? They all try to plan their flight paths most efficiently and thus keep their fuel consumption and pollutant emissions at a minimum. To improve their environmental footprint as much as possible, their flight paths are being calculated using f:wz’s software flywize.
24 airlines around the world are already flying “environment-friendly” with flywize. The Austrian software company is growing at a fast pace – every year more and more large carriers are switching from their current solutions to f:wz with British Midlands (BMI), the second largest British airlines now owned by the Lufthansa group, Air India, the Indian flag carrier, and Turkish Airlines (THY), the Turkish national carrier, being the latest additions to the company’s customers base.
“At the moment our customers are focusing on optimization, of course, with the large carriers targeting potential fuel savings in the hundreds of millions of Dollars every year,” says f:wz’s Chief Marketing Officer Christoph Prinz. “Yet, the environment and the reduction of greenhouse gases are becoming increasingly important factors to these airlines – and flywize is helping our customers achieve the ambitious goals.”
In this respect, Air India ranks among the most progressive companies. “Our industry must raise its awareness of shared responsibility for climate protection”, argues Arvind Jadhav, Chairman & Managing Director of Air India. “To us, environmental consciousness is an integral part of our corporate philosophy. And it was also one of the reasons why we chose flywize.”
